Corpus Christi Symphony Reschedules Concert Season

The Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra has announced that it has rescheduled its 2020-2021 concert season due to governmental guidelines regarding large audience gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Symphony is rescheduling concerts originally scheduled for October and November and moving its popular Home for the Holidays concert from December to July 2021 to protect the health of our audiences, musicians, workers, patrons and the community.

We are hopeful that conditions will improve sufficiently by early 2021 so that people may safely attend our live concerts. “While we continue to work with our musicians to make plans for rescheduled spring offerings, we are eager for the day when we can return to the stage in force,” said CCSO Executive Director, Dr. Mark Francis.

The CCSO will perform a 75th Season like no other, offering both matinee and evening performances to meet social distancing criteria. The revised Season of Hope will present five unique concerts of exquisite live music.

February 6, 2021 – The Three B’s (Beethoven, Bach and Brahms) featuring Elizabeth Adkins, violinist, as originally scheduled.

March 13, 2021 – A Family Affair, highlighting clarinet, cello and piano soloists from our own CCSO orchestra, also as originally scheduled.

April 10, 2021 – Solo piano recital, featuring Rachid Bernal, brilliant pianist from Mexico City.

May 8, 2021 – Pipe Organ Spectacular, featuring Maestro Hector Guzman, accompanied by our Symphony strings, to be held at the First Methodist Church.

July 24, 2021 – Christmas in July, our very special Holiday presentation.

Tickets for the revised Season of Hope will go on sale immediately. Season subscriptions already purchased for 2020 – 2021 will be honored for the rescheduled season. For further information, contact the CCSO Office at 361-883-6683.

Please recognize that the proposed changes are being made for your safety and will enable you to purchase your season tickets with the confidence that your investment with the CCSO is secure. We are inspired by Maestro Hector Guzman’s words, “Whatever it takes, ladies and gentlemen, I am here for you. Let’s make as much beautiful music as possible!”
